About Dr Ben Brooker
Orthopaedic surgeon providing care to the Gippsland community
Dr Brooker grew up in Warragul and attended school in Warragul and Drouin before completing his medical training at the University of Melbourne in 2005. Dr Brooker has been privileged to work with and learn from some excellent surgeons and mentors both locally and overseas, completing his orthopaedic training in Victoria and Tasmania and specialist fellowship training in arthroplasty and revision surgery in Canada.
Dr Brooker returned from fellowship in 2016 with a keen interest in modern techniques and approaches to knee and hip replacement surgery particularly, and an enthusiasm to continue to evolve his practice as new evidence emerges. This continues today and Dr Brooker keeps up to date with the most recent orthopaedic techniques and literature. Dr Brooker also trains the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons as director of training at Latrobe Regional Health.
Dr Brooker began working in the local orthopaedic unit in Traralgon in 2016 and continues to live and work in Gippsland with his family. Dr Brooker consults and operates in Traralgon, Maryvale and Warragul and has a strong commitment to the local community. With over 10 years of experience in orthopaedic practice, he specialises in knee and hip replacements, ACL reconstruction, and revision surgeries.
